Itinerary
Tbilisi to Mestia
Early morning departure from Tbilisi. Scenic drive or flight to Mestia, the gateway to Upper Svaneti. Check in to guesthouse and explore Mestia's iconic medieval towers and the Svaneti Museum.
Mestia Acclimatization Hike
Acclimatization day with a hike to the Chalaadi Glacier. Enjoy panoramic views of Tetnuldi and Ushba peaks. Afternoon free to explore Mestia town and meet local Svan families.
Trek: Mestia to Zhabeshi
Begin the classic Mestia-Ushguli trek. Hike through alpine meadows and forests to the village of Zhabeshi. Stunning views of the Caucasus range throughout. Overnight at local guesthouse.
Trek: Zhabeshi to Ushguli
Continue the trek to legendary Ushguli, Europe's highest continuously inhabited village at 2,200m. Cross a mountain pass at 2,700m with breathtaking panoramas. Arrive in Ushguli and explore the village's ancient towers.
Ushguli Exploration & Return
Morning to explore Ushguli village complex with its spectacular cluster of defensive towers. Visit the Lamaria Church and Shkhara Glacier viewpoint. Afternoon return to Tbilisi by vehicle.
